In Camborne, at the West end of the town. There is a small car park down a side street
adjacent to it, with a barrier, but to get out you need a token from the
bar. Inside the pub the lounge bar is
surprisingly spacious and there is a public bar as well. Not a typical hotel impersonation of a pub
but rather good. Although, when they
have live music it can be deafening inside. Stu

Large town centre pub which St Austells have spent a lot of money on. Lots of wood panelling and separate areas to drink, so you have a choice of where to sit. Good lively atmosphere for somewhere so big.
John 8/10 Nov 98
Large comfortable bar with sectioned of seating
areas. Plenty of space (though maybe crowded in evening!) Interesting paintings
and prints on stone block walls. Large well lit bar area. Cider jars on window

The original 13th Century
building burnt down. What a terrible
shame! The replacement is a replica, but
you can see it’s all too new. Anyway, a
nice pub which is easy to find as you head up the hill to the West of the
Town. It’s on the right. Beamed bar serving good food. Stu 1997 8/10
This is the first time I have visited
the pub, so I can't give a opinion about it was like before the fire in 1996.
Lovely traditional pub with a friendly landlord, dimly lit with low beams,
stone floor and a nice fireplace. Was told by the landlord there are still some
of the orginal beams left from the fire. Very enjoyable.
John 9/10 Dec 2000
This Hotel was rebuilt following a
serious fire in 1996. Very friendly landlord. Pointed out this was our last pub
on the St Austell’s passport (apart from brewery centre ). Dark wood tables and
chairs and attractive latticed windows with Xmas fairly lights. Large open
fireplace. Parking a little difficult but frontage very impressive.

Traditional pub on the main road. Nice
pub with a laid back atmosphere, a pub you can relax in. Nice collection of
antiques, a cut above the usual things you find in pubs. A good beer garden,
which backs on to a river. Spent the night here a nice place too stay in. John 9/10
Stayed at this pub for the night. Old
coaching inn exterior with lovely hanging baskets and trailing nasturtiums and
a lovely peaceful beer garden at the rear, backing on to a river. Inside, an incredible collection of old
bottles and carved wooden cats! Also
strange collection of antique medicines in a cabinet in the room! An antique
collectors paradise. Staff very friendly
and helpful and nice bathroom, would certainly stay here again.

The first thing I will say is that the Old Forge
is NOT old. It was built in the mid
1990’s. Well last century then. It’s a family oriented food
establishment. But its not as bad as you
may think, with reasonable real ales; unfortunately served through
sparklers. Food is good and there is
plenty for the kids if they don’t like real ale. (Only joking). There is an adjoining ‘Fun Factory’ full of
balls. Kids like it as well! Stu 7/10 Feb 2001

This is an usual little pub on the main road
through Chacewater. In 1999 it was sold
by St Austell and it became a free house.
When owned by the St Austell estate it had a small hotel kind-a bar, but
it has been enlarged with a drinking and seating area. Still frequented by many
locals and has the occasional beer festival.

Very open-plan pub and quite food
orientated. Also very crowded, but found
two comfy chairs by the fire, Stu had to rough it! Had San Miguel again. Large hunting horn over
fireplace, but otherwise decor rather bland. Now a free house, but they signed
the St Austells passport anyway. Sue

There was a devastating fire here in the Autumn of
2000, but fortunately the pub reopened the following Christmas – The pub has
been rebuilt tastefully with wonderful slate flags on the floor. There is plenty of parking at the front and
once inside you could stay there all day.
Beers were very good. During a visit before the fire I served myself
from the casks behind the bar.
Apparently the Barmaids wrists were playing up! Good home cooked food and the comfy chairs
were great. Stu 8/10 Jan 2001
Lovely country pub. With low beams and a
fireplace, which was creating a warm cosy atmosphere. Beer served straight from
the barrel. Everything about this place is cosy and comfortable. John 8.5/10 Nov 98
A very pretty country pub with a real fire and
very comfortable flower patterned upholstered seats-with cushions! Stone
fireplace and old beams with horse brasses. An old pub, judging from low beams
and asymmetric layout. A real character pub.

Connor is the Cornish word for rabbit. On the nearby dunes at Hayle there are
millions of them! Anyway, this pub is
very nice. Take the old turnpike road to
Camborne from Loggans Moor roundabout at Hayle. The pub takes its name from
it. Children and dogs are welcome inside
this cottagey pub. It has a bar area and an adjoining restaurant, which are
both very comfortable. Large car park to side and rear as well as a beer
garden. Stu 7/10 1998
Large roadside pub which seems to for the dining
market. There is a bar for drinking but it seems out of place. The fish tank is
the most outstanding feature of this pub. John 7/10 Nov 98

red upholstery. Rather dark. Nice tropical fish tank and a collection of

current and future real ales available.
