Cosy pub specialising in currys’.  A couple of bars and a car park at the rear, with a nice beer garden.  Notice the nice plant pots.  We did.  There is a front bar and a side bar. Stu 8/10 Feb 2005

Lovely old pub, very picturesque.  Stu 7/10

A beautiful exterior with flowering plants in tubs and a large vine under cover! Inside, very pretty though a little crowded. Nice bar area decorated in red. Rather a lot of children around the pub-inside and out!  Sue July 1996

Visited on a summers evening, pub was very crowded. So much so we had to drink outside, from my brief look inside to get the drinks it seem very food orientated with a lot of space taken up by diners. Maybe thats why we had to drink outside! At the time of writing the pub was in the Good Beer Guide, and the beer was good.  John 7/10

Nice little pub in this small village.  Car park across the road, so don’t get run over at closing time.  Central bar area separating a drinking area from a pool table area.  Could do with being a bit more intimate.                  Stu 7/10 Sept 2000

Located in a pretty hamlet by the sea near Mevagissey, this pub has hotel facilities as well.  Great sea views from the garden.  Two bars, with one catering more for food, separated by the beer serving area.  The food is first rate and Sunday lunches are excellent.  Alan and Jeanette Freeman have an excellent hostelry, close to Gorran beach.  Stu 8/10  Oct 2001

Brewery – St. Austell

Real Ales – Tribute and Dartmoor.

Food  - Excellent large portions with extensive menu.

Located mid way between Truro and St. Austell on the A390, half way up the hill on the left.  A new landlord took over in the spring of 2000.  Because Nigel Wakeham is a chef, the food is very good.  Good swift and friendly service at the bar from Louisa and co.  Pub interior was renovated in St Austell style in June 2002 and the front door was moved back to its 1960’s position by the bar.  The beer is always in good condition and large quantities of good food compliment it.  A new beer garden has also been opened at the back by the large car park.  Great locals pub with occasional live music and Sunday lunches which are incredible value.

Stu. 8/10  June 2002

Large village pub on the main road with separate drinking areas.  Mainly quiet with good food and a good atmosphere.              John 7/10  May 2001

A good locals pub with a good food section and very warm atmosphere. Split-levels where upper corner bar is ideal for a friendly chat. Warm beige decor and comfortable seats.  Sue Oct 2000

Take the Grampound Road turning between Grampound and Probus on the A390 or off the main A30.  Its on the main road through the village, which grew up around the main line railway station (now closed).  This place reminds me of a social club.  Its actually an old coaching inn and the pub is now partly in the stables, but only the old pillars remain.  It concentrates on drink – rightly so and the Landlord and Landlady run it as a ‘hobby’.  Modern and pleasant inside with a large pool room at one end and plenty of seating at the other.

Stu 8/10  Feb 2001/March 2004

A good community local, with a friendly landlord.  One room pub with a slate wall and red carpet.  D้cor reminds me a little of a social club.  Interesting prints and beer mirrors on the walls including one for Watneys Lager beer – must have had the Munich brewers trembling ! John  8/10 March 2004
